I Wander Clad In Red Dismay

Reminiscent of the red robed figures that Extinction Rebellion use as representing blood and dismay. Part of the idea for the colour and dress was to make them stand out dramatically against the grey of the city. It seems to be one of the characteristics of XR that they use drama and metaphor in inventive ways.. All this needs is an XR logo and it could be one of their posters. ( Again, not unusual to find inventive street art that they’ve made.)

They make government very angry, to say the least: the Home Secretary was proposing classifying them as an OCG....organised crime group...or as terrorists this week. Why? Because they briefly disrupted some national newspapers leaving the presses. They were “threatening free speech”. So peaceful protesters and activists are criminalised while multinational companies who rape the planet are cosseted by that “free press”...News this morning that Rio Tinto Zinc in Australia knowingly obliterated an ancient sacred site. Even the shareholders are a little embarrassed. They say that the director’s bonuses “ may have to be reduced”. Meanwhile new laws may be introduced to prevent XR gathering to protest...
