The former abbey-church "Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul" was built in the 11th. century. The octogon is similar (but much smaller) to the Palatine Chapel Charlemagne had built in Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle) 300 years before.

Riquewihr is probably a very nice village, but it can get pretty crowdy during the summer-season.

In this humble house - the great Bill Cody -"Buffalo Bill" - stayed overnight, when he visited
Bergerac in October 1905. I learned all this from the little white sign.

The whole of France is celebrating "La Fête Nationale " on July 14th.
The "Bastille day" commemorates the storming of the Bastille in Paris on 14 July 1789.
Here are the fireworks over the "Palais de la Berbie", formerly the Bishops' Palace.

View from my room in Lyon. A very strange name for a parking garage. The whole name is TITANIC. Only the first three letters were visible from the window. Still is a strange name. In front of the building parked the most famous french car ever. In exactly the right colour. Light blue.

Not much is left of the church Saint Girons near Hagetmau.
But there is still this crypt with some strange carvings.
