Aosta
Aosta is the capital of the "Valle d'Aosta", an autonomous region of Italy, which is the smallest region in the country in terms of area and population.
Augustus founded the Augusta Praetoria Salassorum colony here, parts of whose regular road network can still be seen. The main road Decumanus Maximus, which crossed the Aosta Valley, passed through the colony.
The large wall in the center belongs to the ruins of the "Teatro Romano".
