Cologne - Eifelstrasse
Cologne is the fourth-largest city in Germany - and one of the oldest. A Germanic tribe, the Ubii, had a settlement here, this was named by the Romans "Oppidum Ubiorum". In 50 AD, the Romans founded "Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium", the city then became the provincial capital of "Germania Inferior".
A large historistic building near the Volksgarten. It has a very interesting facade, the sunflowers actually stick out from the wall. Note the shadows, they are made from metal.
The building houses (for 10 years!) the small "Metropol Theater". The last year has been economically very difficult, as the actors could hardly ever play here. But the enthusiasts are still standing - and waiting for better times.
