The Collégiale Notre-Dame was founded in Beaune within the 10th century.
The building of this church, which is a parish church since the French Revolution started in romanesque style within the 12th century.
Seen from the back, the romanesque structure is clearly visible. The apse, surrounded by the chapels and the crossing tower, that later got a baroque "dome".
