Bosa - Castello Malaspina

Bosa - Castello Malaspina
After the House of Malaspina started around 1200 to erect the impressive castle, that still today towers over Bosa, people settled around it, as the place offered more security than the settlement that existed near the shore.

In 1308 James II of Aragon (aka "Jaume el Just", "Jaime II de Aragón") acquired castle and town and so could increase the Aragonese influence on the island. About 8000 people live today on the banks of the river Temo.
