Tergu - Nostra Signora

Nostra Signora, located just outside the village of Tergu is one of the few structures of a former monastery. The monastery is gone - and now this is the parish church of Tergu.
Workers from Pisa and the Lombardy built it. The church was consecrated in 1117 and in 1122 it dependent on the famous abbey of Montecassino, founded by Saint Benedict. The monastery was surrounded by a wall, the gate and some parts of that wall and this open room still exist. It was changed into this grotto.
