Pibrac - Sainte Germaine de Pibrac
Saint Germaine of Pibrac (aka Germaine Cousin) was born in 1579 at Pibrac. She worked as a shepherdness and so mostly is shown with a small flock of sheep.
The erection of the neo-byzantine/romanesque "Basilique Sainte Germaine de Pibrac" started in 1901 and was completed in 1967. It was planned as a center of pilgrimage, but, when I passed through Pibrac, the church was locked - and somehow seemed kind of forgotten. Maybe the pilgrimage here has a certain season.
