Percy using all his senses. For a totally blind dog you could be forgiven at times for not realising or forgetting he can't actually see a thing. What amazing spirit this little boy has. All that bothers him now is going down steps, he has mastered how to go up all sorts of terrains - we just guide him by staying 'step up' and he works out the rest!

Aww, bless him, I never knew he'd gone blind. Animals do adapt so well, don't they. All 3 of my degus are now blind, but you'd never know, apart from how their eyes look.
That's a beautiful place, by the way, and lovely to see Percy still enjoying his explorations. As we know, he'll still be getting such a lot from what he can sniff on his travels.

Yes absolutely devastating. He went blind literally overnight - Tuesday he could see, Wednesday he couldn't. That was at the end of March. I miss his lovely brown eyes, they were so expressive, now they are just black as his pupils are always fully dilated. Occasionally at night when he is asleep, when he first opens his eyes you can get a glimpse of the brown. He got SARDS - Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome. Just after his fifth birthday.
