A charcoal sketch I did at a life drawing session. Back at home I temporarily 'fixed' the image with cheap hair spray so I could paint over it with watercolor without smearing the charcoal. Then, when the paint was dry, I applied linseed oil to the back of the sketch paper, the oil soaking through, drying and locking both the charcoal and the water colors to the paper making it close to "archival" as an oil painting.

Thanks Risa. The linseed oil yellows as it ages With some, such as this one I don't see such as a problem. I trying other oils as well to see how they work out, mneral oil, for example.
