Calm in a cardboard palace

Calm in a cardboard palace
Charcoal, ink and acrylic. A charcoal sketch, made at last week's life drawing session and then painted back in my studio.

Lebojo, Steve Bucknell, , have particularly liked this photo

Explain the mystery of the title please, Jim! Bukowski?

Not Bukowski, even though, quoting from his "underground":

"we carried the chairs back upstairs
the revolution was
over."

I was thinking, after finishing the charcoal sketch during the drawing session, about how the model and her/his feelings/energy/attitude define these drawings/paintings & everything else is simply a cardboard backdrop.

Aha.
We’re getting the chairs back downstairs over here, see if we can make an anti-capitalist, extinction rebellion.
