Death and Destruction

Death and Destruction
Soft pastels on 12 by 12 inch black card stock.

No I wasn't depressed nor despondent, no more than usual anyway, when I drew and titled this little sketch, nor had I suddenly become filled with angst about the future of humanity, no more than usual anyway. The phrase just popped in to my head and the image immediately followed to be immediately followed by the sketching of same. I do have to admit this all immediately followed my morning perusal of the news, oh boy.

You, and you alone, of course understand this image is full of sound and fury signifying the imminent downfall of all civilization, the disconnect between society and the individual, the rising of the seas, the burning of the lands, and broken masses marching lockstep thoughtlessly to destruction! How astute of you to notice that, everyone else seems to have missed it.

OK, OK, that's what I'd say if I painted/drew/sketched for profit or posterity but since I paint/draw/sketch purely for pleasure, the truth is it was a fun doodle to do. So there! -grin-
