Caribou on the North Slope
I took this picture over 20 years ago at Prudhoe Bay when I was working up there, on the edge of the arctic ocean. The caribou really liked the area as a summer calving ground. I've seen herds thousands strong when they group up to migrate but during the short, intense, summer they spread out enjoying the bountiful food and the mild weather.
