Sub-arctic rescue

Sub-arctic rescue
OK, last Sunday Karl and his two brothers (sons of a good friend of mine) were snow machining down around Denali. Well, apparently the first brother turned right, the second brother turned right but Karl kept going straight, full speed, ahead and ran in to Mount McKinley or something.

Kids. What can you do, if I told them once I've told them a thousand times: Never run in to mountains, it always hurts you more than the mountain!"

Subsequently he ended up with a broken leg. They ended up having to call a helicopter to medivac him down to a hospital in Anchorage.

Luckily Karl did heed the other piece of sage advice -that, if I told him once, I've told him a thousand time; "Karl! If you're gonna run in to a mountain, make sure you have your younger brother with you!" His younger brother is an emergency room doctor.

The situation was a bit hairy but everything was under control and dealt with efficiently. Karl's leg is repaired and healing.

OK, yes I'm making light of it, we tend to do such up here, -once we know that our friends are treated and recovering nicely.
