Melaleuca quinqueneria bark is used in Florida for mulch as it has become an invasive tree.
They can live for over 100 yrs (per Wikipedia).
Some 40 yr old trees have trunks 2.7m (9 feet) in circumference..
We used to go over to the Agriculture Dept and pick up a load of mulch yearly.
