CD 252 Hemingray-62 glass insulators in service use

CD 252 Hemingray-62 glass insulators in service use
W Elm St. just west of S Marion St., Bluffton, Indiana

Shot of two CD 252 Hemingray-62 glass insulators with drip points on each end of the crossarm supposedly used for the street light circuits. Looks to be a double circuit line on the pole.

Within the last two years the old mercury vapor street light was changed out along with the isolation transformer taken down.

Now that's what I call a "brake stomper"! I like the variety of glazes on the mud too.

Thanks David glad you like this one a lot! Although the porcelains aren't that old they do look cool like you said with the different color of glazes. I wish I could of shot this pole earlier before they changed the light and took off the isolation transformer.

You can definitely tell that this streetlight has been converted from series to multiple. The loop has been permanently bypassed and the new streetlight has a photocell (ones still wired for series won't as they would be controlled back at the regulator pole).
