Hemingray D-513 glass insulator in service use

Hemingray D-513 glass insulator in service use
Whitley County, Indiana

A wide angle shot of a CD 232 Hemingray D-513 in service use supporting a single phase circuit. I've only seen Hemingray D-513s in service use at two locations in Whitley County, Indiana.

Here is a close up shot of the same pole.

Beautiful pole there! I love that glass insulator. Unfortunately, there's not too much "big glass" up here in Connecticut, except for two Pyrex insulators on an old subtransmission line from the long gone Connecticut Power Company.

Thanks! This area used a lot of different Hemingray clear glass power insulators, and it's probably because of the close proximity to Muncie, Indiana where they were produced. I remember just 10 years ago there were still a lot of these different CD glass power insulators used throughout the rural areas of northern Indiana, with Ohio is the same way.
