Excellent close up peter, I thought Common Rustgill, Right time of year but wrong type of wood.
My reference says domed shaped to start with, then flattens out and often with wavy margins.
Might be worth a chat down your local garden centre if you are worried about it, they might have someone with specialist knowledge.

Just as an after thought Peter, have you spread any Bark chippings? Commercially produced would have been heat treated and safe but some low grade may still contain fungi spores.

I would have thought this was some type of Honey Fungus. They attack and kill the tree roots. There are dozen of different varieties. I'm no expert though, but have a google and look at some images.
