Not Sailing Anywhere, Any Time Soon..!!

Not Sailing Anywhere, Any Time Soon..!!
An extra photo from me today......taken for WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY.

This was taken this morning during a quick walk at Langstone Harbour Hampshire, while the sun was out. It didn't say out long, but it was a pleasant outing nonetheless.

I spotted this abandoned dinghy lying in a sea of wildflowers as I was on the way back to my car!

Please view large, on black. Thanks for looking............I hope you've all had a good day!

Annemarie, Cheryl Kelly (cher12861 on flickr), , Annalia S. and 33 other people have particularly liked this photo

Oh! Did you take that walk with the purpose of getting a photo for World Photography Day? Was that a pleasant thing for you to have a purpose to your walk, or did it distract from the experience?

What pleasant plants are taking over that boat. A simple boat that has the feel of many pleasurable outiings. I really like that your photo shows off all the "mess" of plants, and shows the beauty of the plants. A beauty of weeds.

I'm pleased you like this one Laura..............thanks for dropping in.

I did set out that morning specifically to take a photograph for World Photography Day..........not this photo in particular..........but I've been coming to this location since I was a child and I know it very well, so I was sure I'm find something appropriate. I took quite a few shots but I decided this was the one I liked the best. It was the last photo I took that day!

I normally avoid anything which "requires" me to take a photo on a particular day, but I'm glad I made an exception in this case.

It's cool to know that this is a well loved place of yours to go to.

I'm glad that your and other people stepped up to the challenge of photographing on a particular day. Sometimes having a boundary helps us create!

Thank you Laura.

I was surprised how few people posted photos.......................compared to the number of members :-( Maybe next year more people will join in.

Thank you for organising it :-))

I, for one, was pleased with the number of people who contributed as we had very little time to get the word out. So next year I hope the people who contributed this year will help spread the news. I spent about 4 hours this time writing to each of my contacts (a copied ipermail, but still it took time) about the event. If others do so next year for even some of their contacts, I think we will see a surge.
