PA - Pullman Armchairs

As part of their on-going refurbishment of the first class accommodation, the Ffestiniog Railway asked us to build a dozen replica Pullman style armchairs. They then had them upholstered, with a bold patterned moquette.

As they are easily moved around between the vehicles, you'll need to look at some details to spot them. Ours are varnished.....not painted. One thing we found when researching for this project, there are at least seven different designs - mainly small changes to the armrest details. Thus we picked one out.....

Currently, the majority are in "Glaslyn" the new WHR observation car (the one with the wraparound end windows) This is the carriage that HM Queen Elizabeth travelled in, before unveiling the name. {April 2010}

When we built the original dozen chairs, there were enough spare parts (more or less) for another two. These have now been built as our first export order, to Holland, they were collected in January 2011. Harry made the sale, at least his image on the sample chair did !......and although his health was failing, he was well enough to pop in to meet *his* customers......
