MF[23] - Miller Fifer Refit [2023] relaunched 17th Oct 2023

Need to add some images of the refit work ---- Emoyeni was first relaunched in 2015 after almost a decade spent under restoration and by March 2020 was in need of a lift out for some maintenance on the hard - changing anodes and the like, which would have also included some re-caulking, re-painting and re-varnishing. This was all planned and materials obtained ...
Sadly the Covid-19 pandemic intervened and as a result it took until Spring 2023 before arrangements to do the refit could be completed and the boat got out of the water. This has meant that a lot of additional work has become necessary.
Since the lift out the hull has been sanded back, the cockpit locker covers are being replaced, some re-caulking and other repairs are underway, prior to re-painting / re-varnishing / re-anti-fouling ... And that's just on the exterior ...
Interior cleaning and repainting of the cabin lockers has been completed, to be followed by sanding of the interior brightwork & much polishing of brasswork.
Returned to the water on 17th October 2023 [16 images], just in time for Storm Babet ! Some further work to the decks, cabin roof and cockpit is still continuing.
Note that Queen's Dock is currently [since Nov 2022] been subject to an influx of what is probably ex-mine water via Bransty Beck that is causing a "rusty" [bright orange/red/brown] discolouration. The actual source and how to deal with the problem are both still to be determined, resulting in quips about "Orangehaven" ...
