MRT PalVan Middleton Railway Trust Leeds

The Middleton Railway, Leeds have a PalVan, used mainly by their track workers as an equipment store. Unfortunately, in the early hours of 15th July 2018, the neighbouring builder's merchant suffered a major arson attack. The radiant heat, despite the efforts of the fire brigade, caused several serious problems. These were to both buildings and vehicles plus, the MRT were advised to cancel the special event on the Sunday. By far the worst damage was to the PalVan and the tools inside. On the advice of the loss adjuster we were contacted and have agreed to carry out the rebuild of the bodywork, the running gear was unaffected. The PalVan was transported to Haltwhistle in June 2019.
The first group of images show the fire damaged PalVan, followed by the work carried out to rebuild the bodywork. The final group of images are of the finished project.
