wst[25/26] - UPDATED to all ENGLAND on 31Dec2025 ! AMBER Cold Health Alert : 8 days {28 Dec 2025 -> 5 Jan 2026} [EXPLORED]
NOTE : An eight-day amber cold-health alert for the North East & North West England, has been issued by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA).
It is in effect from 20:00 on Sunday, 28th DECEMBER 2025 until 12pm on Monday, 5th January 2026
UKHSA says forecast conditions are likely to cause significant impacts, particularly for older people and those with existing health conditions, leading to increased demand for health & social care services during this period of prolonged cold weather.

And so many more months of cold to go! : (
Definitely feels very cold this morning despite being dull & overcast, it is dry atm {10:30}
ref : www.whitehavennews.co.uk/news/25726317.fell-roads-cumberland-council-area-closed
presumably they don't want a repeat of the mess last year, when some amateur 4WD vehicles on stuck on Hardnott / Wrynose ...
If anything, it feels even colder than yesterday, despite the cloud being far more broken - enough for some blue sky to be visible !
It has stayed dry and is not windy, thankfully.
[day four / 31st December 2025]
Feeling very cold this morning, thin, broken cloud, dry with light winds.
and increased areas may get snow this week !
Still bitingly cold, although the temperatures are not exceptionally low for this part of the UK.
Sunny, dry, light winds.
Fortunately, no snow to speak off. What there is looks more like a hard frost !
Distinctly possible that the already increased alerts will be further extended by the Met Office.
