Storm Bert affected the UK between 21st and 26th November 2024

Various Yellow warnings for strong winds and heavy rain with potential flooding, increased to Amber for snow & ice in parts of central Scotland. Sadly there were five fatalities. Chippenham was one of the areas afflicted quite badly by flooding.

I was quite shocked to see flooding here as bad as this, luckily my friends live on higher ground and were not significantly affected {although one of tgheir places of work will need *some* work before it can re-open.

Clearing up after modern flooding - or our awareness of the risks - seems a long process, and so much ends up at the tip ...
