CoCL - UK interest rates, Oct 2024

In the UK, the Bank Of England uses base interest rate changes as a means to help control inflation. There is a marked lag in the responses of the inflation rate [CPI] to base rate changes.
This base rate underlies all UK borrowing and savings interest.
[Whether there really is a causal link I'm not fully convinced].
