In my opinion, that ear injury wasn't directly from a bullet, more likely that it was from glass fragments off a damaged teleprompter. [or possibly *just* the shockwave from the bullet - as there is an image showing what looks like a rifle bullet passing behind trump's head, before the SS dogpiled him to the deck].
It prompted a fantastic display of ear bandages from his supporters ...
