CoLC - trolley of 72 like4like items in supermarkets

CoLC - trolley of 72 like4like items in supermarkets
Published in February 2024, Which? [UK's consumer rights organisation] carried out a price survey in the UK's leading food supermarkets by buying a list of 72 like-for-like items. The prices charged varied from £125.43 to £162.94 for a mixture of branded and own label items.
So much for "price matched" campaigns ...

I haven't found the exact list of items, but I recall that some are "brands" and some are "own-label" but the difference being nearly £40 is obscene ! [£37.51]

Back when I was a student on a fixed grant, and with a similar level of inflation, the students clubbed together to do a similar survey and bulk bought some items for extra savings. We would also put a list up of the cheapest places for sugar, tea and canned / fresh food, otherwise everyone would be walking around doing their own searches.
Careful shopping made keeping to you budget limits easier ...
