Ukrainian Military intelligence reports indicated that another Mainstay (Beriev A-50U AWAC) was shot down over Krasnodar Krai (replacement cost estimated $350M - and not to mention the cost of the trained specialist personnel)

Always sad about any loss of life in wartime, but hopefully these few deaths of the plane's aircrew will mean lower casualties on the Ukrainian side.
