STR - autumnal view {3 of 3}

The River South Tyne flows top left to bottom right, if you look at the ripples it is possible to see a zig-zag in the river [top half of the image].

The River Nent flows into the South Tyne at the bottom of the image, and the combined river makes a sharp turn northwards, to flow along side the rock armour protecting the railway. It is now heading towards and in the general direction of Haltwhistle.
