 Almost at the top of the climb out from the Chainley Burn at Chesterholm; Vindolanda - the fort - is just  over the visible ridge and the vicus is beyond that.
People can sit here to regain their breath, the climb is quite steep - and the sheep fence protects a drop-off in the ground level, disguised by the trees.
