I can just imagine the face of the mechanic/patrolman when faced with something like these ... one of my old [1960s] British motorbikes gave one patrolman pause for thought when attending a breakdown a few years ago. A clip in the headlight mounting bracket had failed, we succeeded in a temporary bodge and I fixed the problem properly, with a new clip, a few days later.
