whn - B923 in a spot of bother

One crane had already proved insufficient to pick B923 up. A few days after this image was captured, two much larger cranes and pumps were used re-float her. An investigation is underway as to the cause, she went down in a very short space of time. No-one was on board at the time and nobody was injured. The booms were deployed quickly and kept the vast majority of the potential pollution confined [the corner of West Strand had a light diesel film].

Hi Sara,

An interesting picture!
Be nice to know the root cause.. Yes sure, we can say a hole in the hull, but in this day and age how did it happen?

Best wishes and keep safe

Hi Peter,
Hoping to find out, in the not too distant future.

Several possible official "holes in the hull" exist - eg. seacocks for the engine's incoming cooling water and other services / facilities.
