O&S (meme) - civil service pension

I'm one of the many UK citizens that were "caught out" by these changes. Which were not only to the actual age of retirement - and other benefits (bus pass etc), but also to the number of years you needed to have worked to qualify for these, not just the pension.
I had made financial & other plans based on retiring at one age. With only a couple of years notice, I had to work almost a decade longer than expected, in order to qualify under the new rules.
