O&S (meme) - Buy British
An interesting concept that works well from either direction, and a campaign that has been run on a number of occasions. Unfortunately, not always that effective overall. This image was used between the two world wars, during the 1930s.
Personally, I try to buy food when it is "in season" and relatively local - both are better for the environment and my wallet. Apart from the odd treat or bargain buy.

The concept itself is doubtable, especially nowadays. The worldwide division of labor stands in the way. In economic terms, for example, "America First" has not really worked.
The image looks like from an earlier times
I was under the impression this sentiment is rather of recent decades after the rapid globalization.
May be I am wrong, actually there is nothing new in life? :o))
