and disppearing into the next hole in the piece of timber, with the next peice of leaf - she may lay an egg in there, before fetching another peice of leaf to seal the egg into a cell of it's own. The process may be repeated several times if the hole is big enough.

Just to confirm what happened --- We left the lumps of timber there for several weeks. Then we checked the holes were empty before using the baulks as packing under a project.
