Yes this is a really lovely view. No doubt they would have been able to see the invaders quite clearly from a long way off

The English king supplied his castles from boats so they were all built by water.
The river has silted up since this was built but it was right next to open water in its day :)

Hi Ron, in this direction it is flat. behind the castle there are the Welsh hills. Our hills and mountains, as you know are nothing compared to what you get to see over there though.
