I take peanuts and throw them out of the car window. Magpies don't take notice of cars so they came within feet and I photographed them through the car window.. NO animals were hurt and people were evacuated. It is a shame about the fire but I guess insurance will cover that.

They are really beautiful birds. Yes I thought of you when I heard about the fire at Chester Zoo, I know no animals were lost, but quite a few smaller reptiles and insects were lost
