La folaga eurasiatica o folaga comune (Fulica atra Linnaeus, 1758) è un uccello acquatico della famiglia dei Rallidi.
La folaga dispone di un piumaggio nero, di un becco bianco e di una macchia bianca sulla fronte, detta scudo frontale.
Questi sono ancora esemplari giovani.
Costruiscono il nido, assai bizzarro, nel folto della vegetazione acquatica. Si tratta di una voluminosa costruzione rotonda, galleggiante, fissata alle piante acquatiche in modo che non venga trascinata dalla corrente. È fatta di canne foderate con vegetali più soffici. Le femmine vi depongono dalle 3 alle 12 uova, giallastre, che covano, aiutate dai maschi, per una trentina di giorni. I piccoli rimangono per 55 - 60 giorni nel nido.
