Steam car at the annual Steam Rally at Cark and Cartmel. Remarkably nippy, very quiet and nothing more noxious than steam coming out the exhaust pipe. It'll never catch on....

Tuk Tuk on steroids

Unique to Ko Si Chang, these Samlors are a stretched and beefed up version of the normal Tuk Tuk. Powered by a 1200cc motorcycle engine to enable them to cope with the hilly terrain of the island.
These can be hired for about 250 Baht - about £5 - a day, and the driver will take you around the island to see the sights.

These vehicles are to be found in the rural areas of Thailand. I've never seen one in the city centre. Powered by unsilenced Lister engines with a top speed of about 35 - 40 mph, on a clear night they can be heard for miles.
