On the Sunday morning of the 15th Dresden Steam Engine Festival two steam-hauled specials from Dresden to Freiberg ran in parallel from Tharandt southwest of Dresden.
On the left is DR Class 41 2-8-2 41 1144-9 on the 09.29 passenger from Dresden Hauptbahnhof, running one hour late. On the right is Class 52 2-10-0 52 8154-8 on a goods train. This section is the beginning of the 1 in 40 climb to the south & both locos were working flat out.
