I have never noticed that semaphore before...which looks as if it should be on the other side of the track.

I made the round trip during the last week before closure, in 1961, I think! (shows my age!)
They were nearly always "U" class locos, I don't think they ever ran spamcans on that line, but Cheltenham would often field a GWR mogul for the morning train down.
