“An Entire City Populated by Midgets.” Well, this is sure to be a losing entrant in the PCPC (Political Correctness Postcard Contest), but it is mesmerizing nevertheless. And what were the little people of the day to do? At least here they earned a wage and gained the acceptance of peers if not the adulation of the teeming White City* crowds. Postmarked Aug. 7, 1906. * White City was an amusement park on the South Side of Chicago.

Victorian-era reward of merit card which lends one to believe playing marbles wasn't consistently considered delinquent for youngsters. p.s. I'm guessing by the cricket bat that this may be English in origin, but not necessarily.
