The Sunday Challenge: Spookachtig De nachtmerrie van architecten en ook van vele bewoners: een doorzonwoning. Toch gaan de woningen in dit nieuwe flatgebouw grif van de hand voor vele tonnen. Yet the flats in this new block of flats are selling fast and for tons of money which is also a kind of nightmare. Saturday Self Challenge: pijlen In het kader van de prideweek wappert een gestreepte regenboogvlag van de Oosterkerk. De wijzers in de vorm van pijlen geeft aan dat het tijd is voor voor gelijke rechten voor de lhbti-gemeenschap, in veel landen is het niet hetero zijn strafbaar. – – – Saturday Self Challenge: arrows A striped rainbow flag is flying from the Oosterkerk as part of Pride Week. The hands of the clock in the shape of arrows indicate that it is time for equal rights for the lhbti community. Stars on 45 was een Nederlands studioproject van producent Jaap Eggermont. Het was een legale versie van een illegale mix van fragmenten van verschillende hits, waaronder enkele van The Beatles. De fragmenten werden opnieuw gespeeld en ingezongen door Nederlandse artiesten. De mix van 11½ minuten kwam december 1980 uit, rondom dezelfde dag dat John Lennon werd vermoord. Op de foto het label van deze mix met daarop alle verwerkte titels, waarvan negen van The Beatles. In januari 1981 werd een ingekorte versie uitgebracht, en dit werd een wereldwijd succes. De bijbehorende video is later gemaakt door Avro’s Toppop. Het getal 45 in ‘Stars on 45’ verwijst naar het toerental van een single, in het refrein vier titels van The Beatles verwerkt. – – – Saturday Self Challenge: Song by The Beatles This work contains 11 titles of songs by the Beatles. Stars on 45 was a Dutch studio project by producer Jaap Eggermont. It was a licensed version of an unlicensed (bootleg) mix of fragments of various hits, including some of The Beatles. The fragments were played anew and sung anew by Dutch artists. The mix of 11½ minutes was released in December 1980, around the same day that John Lennon was murdered. On the photo the label of this mix with all the used titles in the mix, nine of these are from The Beatles. In January 1981, a shortened single version was released, which became a worldwide success. The accompanying video was later made by Avro's Toppop, the artists who appear to sing in there are neither the original artists, nor the artists who actually sang.
