The Sunday Challenge: shop(ping)s

Opgave was ‘winkels’ of ‘winkelen’.

Winkels halen heel veel trucs uit de kast die jou doen besluiten om spullen te kopen die je niet nodig hebt. Op de foto dan ook geen aantrekkelijk geprijsde artikelen die in de aanbieding zijn, geen mooie, kleurrijke presentatie, geen gelikt verhaal, maar de zijmuur van een kleine supermarkt in Amsterdam. De foto is genomen op een grauwe dag en in zwart-wit.

Supermarkten gebruiken ook vreselijke muziek, vandaar ook de muziekkeus. Als een anti-commerciele stunt maakte Jean-Michel Jarre slechts één exemplaar van deze plaat. In 1983 werd de plaat slechts één maal uitgezonden op een AM radiostation.

Challenge was ‘shops’ or ‘shoppings’.

Shops do play many many tricks on you so you will decide to get things and even buy more stuff you do not need. Then so, on the photo no goods on offer with an attractive price, no beautiful, colourful presentation and not a slick story behind the product. Only the side wall of a small supermarket in Amsterdam. The photo was taken on a gray day and turned into black and white.

Supermarkets are using horrible music, hence also my musical choice. As an anti-commercial stunt, Jean-Michel Jarre made only one copy of this record. In 1983 it was broadcasted only once on an AM-radiostation.
