Eternal Snow

Eternal Snow
Early European explorers referred to the snow-capped volcanos of Africa as Eternal Snow.
It seems now that the snow may not be everlasting.

This photo was taken by a Yashica Electro 35CC and COLOR-YASHINON DX 1:1.8 f=35mm lens with a Pro 52mm (UV) Japan filter using Kodak daylight negative 135 film, the negative scanned by an HP Scanjet G4050 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Photo above of me taken by my climbing partner, Matt, using my camera on the equatorial glacier of Mt. Kenya during a snowstorm.

Great shots! The second shot perfectly captures the effects of climate change.

I took this photo on an ascent of Mt. Kenya in January 1978. I wonder what is left of this equatorial glacier 48 years later . . . ?
