Gingham Skirts Butte
Towering over a remote canyon in southern Utah stands the imposing layered mountain, Gingham Skirts Butte. For a brief period of time in the late 1800s Mormon settlers attempted to eke out a living in this inhospitable but beautiful terrain, eventually abandoning their homestead to the harsh elements.
This photo was taken by a Kowa/SIX medium format film camera and KOWA 1:3.5/55mm lens with a HOYA 67mm INFRARED (R72) filter using Rollei IR 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.
