Officer's Quarters

Officer's Quarters
Officers enjoy a bench/bed in their quarters while seamen have to put up with a bunk bed.

This photo was taken by a Hasselblad 500C medium format film camera with a Carl Zeiss Distagon 1:4 f=50mm lens and a Hasselblad/63 1xHz-0 drop in filter using Ilford Delta 3200 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

This bench is almost like a bed. So things seem to be OK

Not in the tankers I worked on... all cabins were individual, had a small bathroom/toilet and portholes... guess we were lucky! HBM Scott

If only the naval officers knew, they might have joined the Merchant Marine, instead . . .
