Journey into the Misty Heights
Our objective is to explore the highlands of Stag’s Leap.
Reaching back in time when the Wappo tribe ruled over this land, there was an oral history that this misty region was the realm of a supernatural stag. Generations of warriors tried to hunt the elusive deer. Those few who were successful in cornering the proud buck witnessed the impossible. When cornered, he would leap off the cliff, preferring to die rather than succumb to the arrows of a hunter. Mysteriously, no remains were ever found at the base of the precipice. The noble stag would simply vanish into thin air.
Yes, we seek the legendary stag of the misty heights.
This photo was taken by a Kowa/SIX medium format camera with a KOWA LENS-S 1:3.5/150mm lens an Kowa L39•3C(UV) ø67 filter using Kodak Portra 400 film, scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.
