Hay Rake

Hay Rake
The hay is cut, raked into tidy windrows, gathered and transported to the barn. We set aside the Hay Rake next to the fence and release the horses to graze in the fields. Now, we're off to do other chores around the farm. (Memories of farm life long ago)

This image was taken by a Minolta Autocord TLR medium format film camera with Seikosha-MX Rokkor 75mm f/3.2 & 3.5 twin lenses and a Hoya HMC Y [K2] filter using Rollei RPX 100 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

I often do research after taking a photo to learn more about what I have just captured on film. Photography is an interesting learning experience for me!

When so many now live in cities, it is refreshing to see bit about rural life which used to be the norm for most in the past.

The fence implies the rake is on the crest of a hill. I hope it does not roll away.

Until I returned to film photography about 10 years ago I had forgotten how nice Black & White compositions could be!

And, the barn door is closed and the sun is setting over the well-kept fields. Sigh . . .
