Happy Thanksgiving weekend, everyone
Monday, October 14th is the Canadian Thanksgiving, so I wanted to wish all my fellow Canadians a very Happy Thanksgiving, no matter what part of the world you are living in or serving in. We have so much to be thankful for every day, in this country! A special thank you to those service people and their families, who make so many sacrifices for the rest of us, too often the ultimate sacrifice. I am very thankful for what you all do for the rest of us. Have a happy, safe time, everyone! Photographed on 28 September 2013 at the Saskatoon Farm, a 20-minute drive south from the southern edge of Calgary.

Happy Thanksgiving!
This is Thanksgiving weekend for Canadians, so I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, no matter what part of the world you are living in or serving in. We have so much to be thankful for every day, in this country! A special thank you to those service people and their families, who make so many sacrifices for the rest of us, too often the ultimate sacrifice. I am very thankful for what you all do for the rest of us. Have a happy, safe time, everyone! Some people choose to celebrate on the Sunday and others on Monday, so thought I'd post this in time for Sunday, 13 October 2013 (tomorrow). Photographed this handsome Turkey on 28 September 2013 at the Saskatoon Farm, a 20-minute drive south from the southern edge of Calgary. I find it hard to put two and two together - the naked, frozen bird that you see in the supermarket, and this huge, magnificently-feathered, living creature : ) Hope this doesn't spoil your appetite!

The birds
There was just something I liked about this wall plaque that I saw on 28 September 2013, when I spent a few hours at the Saskatoon Farm (a 20-minute drive south of Calgary) with my youngest daughter and a couple of members of the Photography group she runs. A most enjoyable day, wandering round with our cameras and enjoying a delicious lunch there.

Autumn cheer
One of the Sunflowers that were growing at the Saskatoon Farm, S of Calgary, on 28 September 2013, when I spent the day with my youngest daughter and a couple of members of the photography group she runs. Wandering round with our cameras, finding things to photograph, and then having a delicious lunch there, was great fun.

Recycled
Thought this was a neat way to re-use an old, rusty vehicle. Seen at the Saskatoon Farm (about 20 minutes' drive S of Calgary) on 28 September 2013, when I spent a few hours there with my youngest daughter. Seems strange looking at this photo, knowing that it's snowing heavily tonight.

View from the Saskatoon Farm
Spent a most enjoyable few hours at the Saskatoon Farm on 28 September 2013, with my youngest daughter and two members of the photography group that she leads. It's a fascinating place to visit, with all sorts of things to photograph, a gift shop, a food shop, and a restaurant that offers delicious food! I love their quiche. So nice to just wander at leisure with our cameras and have lunch together. This was the very first time that I had driven there, though I had been with various friends maybe three or so times before. So, that's one more place I can now drive to, which feels good. The Saskatoon Farm is about 20 minutes' drive south of Calgary, and this is one of the views seen from the farm.

A fancy chicken
When I visited the Saskatoon Farm (a 20-minute drive south of Calgary) with my youngest daughter, on 28 September 2013, we spent several hours wandering around with our cameras. They have a huge pen that contains a couple of Turkeys and several chickens of different species. They were constantly on the move, but I just managed to get two or three photos through the wires.

Special light
"Just" a flower seen at the Saskatoon Farm, a 25-minute drive SE of Calgary, when I spent the day there with my youngest daughter and two of the members of the photography group she runs. We wandered around the various buildings, inside and out, and also had such a delicious lunch there, too.

Rooster at the Saskatoon Farm
It has just taken me about two hours to finally get this image to upload!!! Had to try four times. I have another two photos that have started to upload, but I have a bad feeling that they won't work. Seeing as it is after half past midnight, I'm really hoping that both will appear. My very recent photos upload elsewhere just fine, just not on ipernity. I've asked the ipernity team for help or suggestions, but I haven't heard back from them - yet.
This Rooster was with several other kinds of chicken at the Saskatoon Farm on 28 September 2013. This is a great place to visit, roughly a 20-minute drive south of Calgary.
